Carlos Bielsa

Managing Partner & Chief AI Officer, BIT Capital

Carlos Bielsa is Managing Partner and Chief AI Officer at BIT Capital. Joining the firm in its early stages, he has been a driving force behind its rapid growth and technological evolution — building the AI and quantitative systems that power the firm's investment process, from proprietary signal generation and alternative data to AI-driven research automation.

He co-manages BIT Capital's flagship technology equity strategies, including the BIT Global Technology Leaders fund (~EUR 1bn AUM), which has delivered annualized returns exceeding 30% since inception. The fund has received over 20 industry awards for risk-adjusted performance, most recently the LSEG Lipper Fund Award Europe 2026 (Equity Global) and the Mountain View Fund Award 2026 (Sector Technology). Carlos also holds a Citywire AAA manager rating, the highest possible.

Before finance, he spent nearly a decade at the European Space Agency as a Flight Dynamics Engineer. As part of the Rosetta operations team, he played a key role in the first, and only, successful comet landing in history — including the implementation and online training of the cometary atmospheric model used in flight operations. He also developed critical ground software infrastructure used to command major ESA missions including Rosetta, Mars Express, and Solar Orbiter.

He holds an MSc in Aerospace Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (with distinction) and an MSc in Finance from the University of London (SOAS).
